Discovering Won-Buddhism
Won-Buddhism began in Korea over 110 years ago with the founding motto,
“With this Great Opening of Matter, let there be a Great Opening of Spirit.”
From the beginning, its aim has been to respond to a rapidly changing world by bringing spiritual clarity and practical wisdom into everyday life.
This four-hour retreat offers space to pause, breathe, and step back from the noise of daily life.
Together, we will explore how to return to our original mind and how to cultivate it in real situations.
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, searching for a steady inner compass, curious about Won-Buddhism,
or simply longing to connect with a thoughtful and sincere community, you are warmly invited.
No prior meditation experience is needed, and people of all religious or non-religious backgrounds are welcome.
Throughout the afternoon, we will experience several forms of meditation, learn about the core principles of
Won-Buddhism, and reflect on how these teachings can support our own lives.
The retreat includes guided practice, quiet journaling, a relaxed tea break, and concludes with a sunset meditation outdoors. We hope this meaningful afternoon and early evening will leave you feeling grounded, refreshed, and quietly strengthened for the days ahead.
Please complete the form above to reserve your spot.
The suggested donation is $20, and all are welcome regardless of ability to contribute.
